About Us

Rainbo was founded in 2012 by husband and wife Ben and Xochi, with nothing more than a food truck and a dream to to do what they love. We've been slinging out homemade gyoza from The Old Lady at London markets and at the UK's biggest music and foodie festivals ever since!

In 2016, having become disenchanted with life as a financial adviser and determined to follow his passion, James ditched corporate City life and took over at the healm. The goal was to grow Rainbo from a single food truck to London's favourite Japanese street food business. Today we are proud to have 3 permanent sites at Boxpark Shoreditch, Spitalfields Market and Canary Wharf alongside our beloved food truck.

Rainbo has always been a celebration of some of Japan’s (and now the UK’s) favourite street food, including dumplings, katsu, hirata bao buns and more. We are all about Japanese soul food that is fresh, vibrant and delicious. Our focus is on great food, excellent service and providing the best customer experience we can to every customer we have.
